Biography
Hunter Lefebvre is a Portland Maine based Guitarist, Composer, and Educator. His music is informed by an eclectic mix of influences, including jazz, folk, country, and rock music. In addition to leading his own groups, he can be found performing in numerous groups throughout Southern Maine, and working as a music educator at the Maine Academy of Modern Music.
Hunter began his musical journey at a young age in his hometown of Easthampton Massachusetts. His first musical passion was the rock music of the 60's and 70's, which still deeply informs his playing and compositional style. He soon discovered jazz music, sparking a life long love with improvised music. He continued his education at the University of Southern Maine, graduating with a Bachelors of Music Education in 2020. He has studied with Chris Klaxton, Keith Crooks, Gary Wittner, and Joe Belmont.
